Direct discussions

"Invite-only" threads are now called direct discussions throughout the interface, with clearer empty-state messaging explaining what a direct discussion is: a conversation with someone that doesn't belong to a group.

On instances configured to disable open account creation, a user with no group memberships can still start a direct discussion with another person, rather than being blocked for lack of a group.
