Now that I've restarted my browser; sign-out works. Probably was on older version. Thanks RG

Robert Guthrie

Hrrm.. thanks for reporting. We did have sign out issues last week but I thought I'd solved them, can you screenshot your cookies for me?

Matthew Bartlett

I can't sign out. When I click 'Sign out', the page reloads to loomio.org/dashboard. No error in console.

Option for withholding poll results entirely (i.e. hiding votes as well as voters' identities), i guess prior to the user voting?

Eduard Kurganskyi

You're right. This is problem of Safari (13.0). All options are visible in Chrome.

Robert Guthrie

Here's what I see, what browser are you on @Eduard Kurganskyi ?

Eduard Kurganskyi

The English version has the same problem. Creating tables is not available.

Eduard Kurganskyi

In the localized version of Loomio, some options for formatting text are not available.

Aaron Wolf

It wasn't easy to find if this is reported yet, but

When I click with my (mouse) cursor to move the text-cursor to a different part of the text when posting, I end up with the field no longer active. I can't type at all. I can only get back to the field by using my keyboard tab key to cycle around and get the field to be active again.

I could test other browsers. I'm in Firefox with various privacy plugins and things. But I have never experienced this anywhere else on any other website.

Weird unread behaviour; I just went into the thread "PODS CHECK-IN" and scrolled around to make sure all was 'unread'. I checked and indeed it disappeared from my Unread Threads (etc.).

Moments later, it was back, complete with yellow bar:

I've gone through and tried to clear the thing while screen capturing; have shared by email.

Mark read may have cleared it permanently this time; will report back if not. FWIW: I get a NotFoundError: Node was not found when I hit Mark read.

Greg Kan

A customer has also reported the behaviour regarding invitations to subgroups as 'unintuitive'

Robert Guthrie

Thanks for documenting this. I'm aware of this behaviour and it's actually how it's intended. The unintended part is the "auto accept" of membership (as you put it). Yes, we can't really change this until 1.0 is retired. Great to have it noted in here.

john gieryn

Similar to above, when I invite people to more than one subgroup at a time from a subgroup:

the invited user will auto-accept the invitation to the subgroup from which they were invited, but have to accept-by-email to access the other ones

@Rob Guthrie still not sure if this is too edge-case to be priority before 1.0 deprecation but thought I'd make you aware.

john gieryn

Invite people (from subgroup)

Interesting behaviour when I invite someone to a group via a Subgroups's Members' tab (ticking the parent group's box and/or other subgroups')... it may be that the below behaviors are best addressed once 1.0 can be deprecated but thought I'd document...

It seems that – unlike invitation from the parent group's Members tab – this kind of invitation requires the user to accept via email.

The member does not appear as "invited" in any other subgroups' Members tab except for the subgroup from which they were invited.

If invited user doesn't accept from email, they will start seeing activity in Recent threads (maybe Unread too?) but nothing in the navbar... there's currently no notification for being invited to group, as @Greg Kan and I have chatted about.

Navigating to a thread (or notification eg @mention) of the subgroup, the parent group then appears in the navbar with just the one subgroup I was invited from (and sometimes a public group)

This seemed to accept the invitation for the parent group, but I still could not see the other subgroups I'd been invited to.

Navigating to one of the subgroups I'd been invited to, there wasn't an option to Join. I had to go back to my email and hit Accept.

Greg Kan

weird!! thank you, noted

Robert Guthrie

Grey oblong is the placeholder for something that is loading. For me, they load within 3 seconds, 100% of the time. usually faster & often before they're on screen.

We have had a problem in the past where an ad blocker updated it's banlist to include '/events' which is a word I use within the loomio api, and so they appeared grey because the requests were blocked by the ad blocker - but I think that was an error they fixed within 24 hours.

My current confidence in the thread page is set to 'quite high', so it's likely to be an issue with a browser extension or your internet connection dropping some requests.

(edit: however it is curious it only happened on this thread. that I cannot explain)

david rayner

and now i can see them all...strange? the big bottom lip can take a day or two to work...

david rayner

still grey...was giving me sorta novembver but now...aug 5. only this thread...🙏

david rayner

and now that last comment is grey too...(big bottom lip emoji)

david rayner

weird bug....i cannot see any posts since aug 5(all grey bars) but only in this particular thread!

everything else seems to be working just fine...

feedback from our group about 2.0 is positive.(that means the doohickey device users are happy...)📱

still keen for a searchable iconji table but in no hurry...(going to bed emoji)

Greg Kan

fixed in 2.0.93

Greg Kan

fixing this and other inconsistencies among the vote forms

john gieryn

Anonymous allocate poll does not let participant's know that their votes will be anonymous:

Greg Kan

will wait on @Rob Guthrie to confirm which term he wants to go with

john gieryn

When I start a count Loomio tells me I have "started a check"

PS, aside, are we switching Allocate to something else? All good no rush and I'm not partial, but do please ping me when ya do :) (or just update help)

Robert Guthrie

ok thanks, I've watched the share now. really helpful we'll address this tomorrow. Cheers

Robert Guthrie

are these attachments from loomio1?

john gieryn

FF | Mac OS Can't remove image-attachments from context (sent Loom to your email Rob)

Robert Guthrie

We have not heard any feedback from customers that the trial is unclear, so I'm going to wait for more input on that one.

I agree about the features page, our intention is that we convert the "What's new in Loomio 2.0" into a features page .

Marco Giustini

@Rob Guthrie I wish to propose some improvements for a better usability on the home page. It's unclear that the group you start is not free, but is a time limited trial. You have to add more explanations. First I propose to add a "Features" link to a page on the top-right, between "Blog" and "Help" links. On the "Features" page you need to explain syntetically the Loomio features, already explained in the "Help" page with an explanation of different features of different plans. Second I propose to add a subtitle to the button linked to /start_group and to the text "Start a group for free" with this text: "Try a Loomio 14 days' free trial and then update to one of our paid plans" with link to "Prices" page.

Greg Kan

OK PESKY TABLES ARE FINALLY FIXED IN 2.0.61

Greg Kan

this is an issue with our text editor and an upgrade with a fix is incoming. hopefully i can deploy this today

john gieryn

john gieryn

i get logged out if I try to use my google photo period from incognito window

from FF (logged in, non-incognito) | OS X
I don't have any problems

john gieryn

More bug in this area

  • Retried the process with one variation I mentioned above: logged into google then tried to Sign in with Google
and additional variation signing up from link inviting me to vote on a poll

    • Got same result, looping behavior, my pre-populated email address stays in the form "or, enter your email"

So I logged in by email and encountered related bug #2:

  1. Clicked the "get photo from Google account"

  2. Loomio reloaded back to the Sign in page (without my email pre-populated)

@Rob Guthrie @Greg Kan

john gieryn

yep same issue FF (incognito window) | OS X

  1. I click sign in by Google

  2. Prompted to log into Google and I log into account (Note: this account email has a Loomio profile, but set up to log in with password)

  3. Loomio returns me to the Sign in modal

let me know if you need to test other cases such as 1.) already signed into Google, and 2.) trying to sign up with an google account where the @gmail.com email is not already associated to a Loomio account

Greg Kan

hey @John Gieryn , weirdly this is all working for me today, both signing in to an existing account with google, and signing up to a new account with google. can you try again?

john gieryn

Bug when I try to sign up with a Google account:

  1. I click sign up by Google

  2. I choose a Google account that doesn't have a Loomio user account

  3. I get a 400

  4. Afterwards, if I try to click Sign in with Google the page reloads and shows me the sign in modal again

@Rob Guthrie I spoke to Greg about this in-person FWIW

Greg Kan

is there meant to be an in-app notification when a user has been invited to a group? currently it doesn't show up, and is of type "groupAnnounced" rather than "userAddedToGroup"

Robert Guthrie

this is currently the intended behaviour

Greg Kan

you see groups you've been invited to (and are able to participate in them) despite not having accepted the invitation

Greg Kan

previewing announcement emails is broken
