Balance of morning and mid-day meetings Closed Thu 11 Jun 2020 1:01AM

A few of us actually prefer having work time in the mornings before we have meetings. This allows us to get into the zone and focus before the need to brainstorm. It seems a good number of people also prefer to have meetings in the morning. It would be nice to find some common ground. Perhaps allowing for some focus time in the morning that doesn't require us to get up at 7am to do this pre-meeting work?
Perhaps having certain days where we have morning meetings and others where we have afternoon meetings.

Assigning deadlines with tasks. Closed Thu 11 Jun 2020 1:01AM

Even if there isn't an external deadline, having internal ones may keep us on track better in our sprints.

Regular/scheduled check-ins Closed Thu 11 Jun 2020 1:01AM

Regular (maybe quarterly) check-ins/one-on-ones to make sure line of communication is unblocked. Even if people feel comfortable communicating on a regular basis, sometimes having scheduled times can help people share and/or reflect in a different way. This can be in applicable in a variety of ways. One example would be in terms of looking back at your work from the last months and making sure you're doing work you want to in order to progress your career, etc.

Cross team workshops Closed Thu 11 Jun 2020 1:01AM

Would be great to have interdisciplinary workshop time as well as team-specific workshop time so that we're not limiting the cross-pollination. One way to keep it interesting would be to use a framework like the Ideo Method Cards https://www.ideo.com/post/method-cards

Weekly Random Coffee Sessions Closed Thu 11 Jun 2020 1:01AM

Though spontaneous connections are desired, often the amount and type of work we do doesn't always allow for these organic events. To ensure that each team member has at least one of these sessions per week, we can institute a tool like Random Coffee or Donut.

Daily Annotation of Jira Tasks Closed Thu 11 Jun 2020 1:01AM

Instead of just moving tasks through the workflow, I propose that all team members should be adding notes to their jira tasks when work is completed. This acts as living documentation for oneself and for team members.

If a task could not be completed or worked on during the day, but the team member had specified that they were working on the task during standup / dailybot, then this is also when comments should be added to the jira task - detailing why it was not worked on.

If comments are not added throughout the day, then they should be added at the end of the day.
