Is there a way to discover public groups?

A AlexSBayley Public Seen by 153

Is there some kind of directory of public groups or a way to find what people are doing on Loomio? Some of them might be subjects I'm interested in, and might join if I knew about them, but I don't know how to do that.

(I can see that many would be started by specific organisations and not particularly want strangers wandering in and dropping their two cents' worth, even if they don't mind their discussion being public, but others might be keen to have anyone interested join.)

Sure is! See here: https://www.loomio.org/groups

Great, thanks for the link @matthewbartlett :) Just out of interest, how might I have found that if you hadn't linked me?

It is a bit hidden within the app, isn't it? Though it is highlighted on the home page (which you see when you're logged out)

@skud I'm working on some stuff to make popular groups and discussions way easier to find. Pleased you're asking for it.

Good lesson here: current users will likely not see stuff that's not actually inside the app because you rarely would see the front page if you're normally logged in. This has got me as well!

Thanks for the prod @skud I've added a link to Public groups to the footer. Reload your page to see it on the bottom of any page :)

Ugh... Sorry, but I wish it was in the groups dropdown. that footer link is not discoverable. I want to find groups so I click groups from nav..
