When some members of the Council met in Brussels during Fosdem, most of them kinda felt in love with Bero's little dog, Chwido.

The design and communication team should be in charge of managing the image of Chwido (Ask Chwido? Chwido the magician?)
Bero agreed we use the image of his dog. We could also change his name to Kwido so that people easily know how to pronounce it, and Bero agreed on the fact it may make think about KDE.

I prefer to abstain because I was the one who made a logo with Chwido, I prefer to avoid giving the feeling I'm promoting my work over community's vote :)

No offence but I feel a mascot should be flexible and modifiable (like Tux), and a bit more colorful. But if choosing Chwido is what the rest of the team wants, I'm okay with that. :)

I fully suuport the idea itself. Though we need to get nicer pictures (both real and cartoon/symbolic).

I want to run away from penguins. I like penguins, they are nice little birds with 007 looks. I prefer the mascot to be a dog, the man best friend. As OMA Linux should be, man best friend, loyal and friendly. Chwido (Kwido) could disguise as penguin.

Re Anurag's points: There's no reason why he can't be flexible and colorful -- it's not like the silhouette is the only way he can look.
We can use a photo, or a colorful image, and of course at some point he can have puppies, ...
