A proposal from João was to have a mascot for the association, that could counterbalance with the "serious" aspect of logo.
When some members of the Council met in Brussels during Fosdem, most of them kinda felt in love with Bero's little dog, Chwido.

@anuragbhandari the idea, if i understand correctly is to use the image of the dog, not necessarily the b&w picture :)

Kwido or Chwido. I prefer to use the origial Chwido just because Kwido resambles to much of KDE apps, and.. we are agnostic, arn't we? And I'm on XFCE... lol

If we decide to change the spelling, it should probably be Kvido rather than Kwido, the former is the correct spelling in Czech.

I really don't think there's any point to choose any mascot for the association, unless it intends to have an entirely different branding than the distribution.
Keep in mind that we already have a well established brand as "The Friendly Face of Linux", with cute penguins and all, with community having contributed several avatars based on as well and that'll be the default avatar theme for the next release.

Most of these penguins integrated here can be found in the 'faces-penguin' package.
(Notice that the large, high quality penguin down in the middle is from ongoing work of my designer gf to scale these up to nice vectorized versions)

Using a cartoonish dog as a mascot reminds me a bit too much of the helper dog that were used in Microsoft Office previously too btw..
