Restarting the reading group!

AL Amina Lunat Public Seen by 235

Hello all!

Dr. Victoria Showunmi has very kindly agreed to lead the reading groups so that they can be continued!

Unlike previously, we’ll be reading and discussing an article each week. This means if you miss a week, there's no need to feel like you have to catch up, and it also means we can change the topic and focus of the discussion each week, and that attendees can recommend articles.

There’ll be free food (please let me know of any allergies!) and I can promise a sounding board for any of the thoughts that you’ve had on the material. The article for this week is on critical race and whiteness studies and can be found here:

When and where? Every Tuesday, starting this Tuesday 9th February from 12-1PM. The group will meet in room 404 of the union at 25 Gordon Street.

Thank you Nathaniel

I will of course, include the articles that you have suggested to continue and build on the work which both you and Adam did.

I will let you know how the group develops.

Best wishes

Victoria

Dr Victoria Showunmi,

I hope this note finds you flourishing.

What plans do you have, for building on the work Adam Elliott-Cooper and I put in, to crafting reading group for decolonial discussions?

I encourage you to be guided by this text—in .pdf and in in .docx—which explains the dispositive role of Dr Steve Garner's decolonial text in our struggle and in our solidarity. With this guidance in mind, I think that this video is promising: https://twitter.com/leahfrancis93/status/696022335883706368.
