@amandaspector comment in "Orientation Document" stuff raises questions for me that I NEED RESPONSES TO ASAP

her comment relating to the snafus of the last WCCL meeting with all the new members:

c. Email all the new folks at last Thursday's meeting and explain that we screwed up and that they need to come to Orientation and meet with a Collective Member for reflection before they get involved in the Collective, its Project Groups, and the initiatives in those Project Groups (which they are certainly encouraged to do!). If we want to reach out to build relationships with these folks, we could have each white Collective member reach out to one or two new folks before the next WCCL meeting (informal buddy system). We can email them the WCCL Orientation Packet, BLM Values and Agreements, and suggested resources and remind them about upcoming orientation and WCCL meetings. Maybe Christie could coordinate this as Orientation Leader?

my questions:
I have a number of folks who are new who are signed up to make pasta.

1- do we disinvite them?
2- can I use this as an opportunity to orient them and have these discussions as a two for one situation wheee we prep foods as well as get this done?

how do people feel about this?

We need to get on it and I need to coordinate with people to get this going and I see this mistake, for this particular group, to be an opportunity to get these new folks up to speed on documents, process, and admitting mistakes.

I think cooking together while orienting sounds great. I'm working on language for an email now that could be shared with folks. I'll add it here in 10 minutes for eyes/edits.

Thanks @christienold ... I have a separate list of folks who have already volunteered and I can coordinate and email with them. Is this an email for the large situation or for this gathering specifically?

I can send a specific email to the 7 people independently (with you all attached as well) including the broader "we screwed up" message as well.

Does that sound good?
