Abundance
Hackland has started to build up shared funds - so we should decide how we spend these, how much we keep aside for emergencies and how we let people use the funds for making things better!

Isn’t our cashflow around +$200/wk?? We are at around positive $2000 now. So won’t it take ~10 months to reach that buffer? 6k is a good number but I think half the weekly surplus should go to the slush fund so we can start improving Hackland immeadiately.

Slush Fund Closed Sun 1 Sep 2019 7:02PM
We shall create a new account!
Funds not needed to fill the Safety Buffer or pay for critical infrastructure will get moved to a new account called the Slush Fund for more easier/safer shared use

Lets us separate the funds we critically need from the funds everyone can use more freely to make Hackland better

Some of the surplus could be used to purchase, the more widely used consumable items that wear out.
e,g, New bandsaw blade for cut off bandsaw, hacksaw blades, jigsaw blades, drill bits etc. I'm not so sure Hackland should be funding consumables such as screws for peoples projects etc. Might also be good to start putting packs of screws and other commonly used items into the dispensing machine. That way it would save people a trip to the local hardware store. We could buy in bulk to reduce $$

While the safety buffer is still recharging, what percentage of extra funds should we move to the Slush Fund? (if any) Closed Mon 2 Sep 2019 5:01AM
20% looks like the average, we will begin doing this next Friday
So that we're not financially paralised while we build the safety buffer, I suggest we put a small percentage of weekly extra funds into the Slush Fund anyway

I think it's important to keep things ticking over while we build safety also

Sounds good to me and at a$200 surplus, this gives us $40 every week, which is marvellous
