ICANN 68 At-Large Social Activities
One of the things we miss from in-person meetings is the social aspect of dining out, lunches, GEMS, etc. Here we can discuss some virtual social activities!

1. Develop At-Large Trivia Questions with a Google Form
2. Create slides with the questions and answers
3. Create Zoom Polls with the questions.
4. (Optional) Hire a voice actor to host it and make it more lively and fun!
With a little prep, there can be some good humor associated with it such as jokes about wrong answers. We could divide up into teams: RALOS, ALAC, STAFF.

Pictionary or Win, Lose or Draw Closed Mon 1 Jun 2020 8:02PM
This is a game where we are divide into teams and we have a representative who is given something to draw and the team has a limited time to try and guess what they are drawing.
1. Come up with things to draw (or "borrow" them from an actual game
2. Use the Zoom whiteboard feature to play
3. Host might still be fun but not as essential as with Trivia game.

www.jackboxgames.com has some GREAT multi-player games where up to 8 players play but hundreds can participate as "voters." We could divide up into teams: RALOS, ALAC, STAFF. Basically, someone shares the main screen via Zoom and then everyone participates. via their phones of their own wifi connection.
There are a couple of games which are not too language or knowledge dependent

What's the source of the ambivalence? Whether folks would be interested? If we do the cooking, I think the hybrid thing is best and we need to negotiate a rate that allows us to include folks beyond the sponsored travellers, I think. At some point , she's got to stop charging per seat if it's not interactive.

The ambivalence is purely personal ( yes insert here all the side comment about "playing well (or not) with others". But to be really clear, as indicated in places beyond Loomi, I am all for cooking class for the group normally defined as "supported travelers", and preferably a hybrid where at ones own additional cost those of us with the urge, the right time zone and the access to the required materials or substitute, can share the more full blown class and others can interact and enjoy all our efforts in a more demo mode.
As to the other game choices if you are concerned about my ambivalence, then accept my abstaining, noting I will join in to whatever outcome is established.

Hey @Judith Hellerstein , what do you think about these possibilities for an activity? Obviously trivia might be more accessible than either a cooking class or a visual game like Pictionary.

Having lived in Malaysia for some time long ago, I must say Malaysian cooking school is a great idea. Malaysian food with elements from Malay, Chinese and Indian cuisine is truly great. It might be possible to do it simultaneously, under Ms Ana's guidance, by volunteers at many locations around the globe. Ingredients are not hard to come by, where there are immigrants from SE Asia there are also specialized food shops. However, the list of necessary ingredients and instructions how to prepare them should be distributed well before the act.
