THERE ARE A LOT OF DISCUSSION TOPICS SO FOR CLARITY I SUGGEST WE STICK TO ONE, MAKE A PROPOSAL, CLOSE THE PROPOSAL THEN MOVE ONTO THE NEXT TOPIC. SO MISSION, VALUES, CODE OF CONDUCT

Do we want to have a stated mission and values so that people understand what we are doing? Perhaps a rules of conduct?

Just to be clear I mean something specific to this group so I will provide a few possible examples:
Mission: Provide an independent group for people of any background to freely discuss ideas and generate action steps.

For the values I want them to be something that we value happening inside the group, so how members treat other members. Or how the group is run.

Values: Independence, privacy, transparency, little centralized authority. respect, collaboration, initiative, innovation

I would like the code of conduct to be simple and I want people to know what the expectations are in this group as far as behavior goes.
Code of conduct:
Respect, if you want to fight exchange emails and have fun. This is not the place for petty squabbles.
Admins: There will be a few admins that will be voted into power. At any time they abuse power they can be stripped of power by 3 members or 10%, whichever is higher.
Independence and freedom: No one controls ideas. If someone wants to start a discussion about breaking the law, they can. There is no restriction on ideas. If you do not agree with the action, don't do it and argue eloquently.
