In this area we’ll be discussing what policies you believe in for education in the UK. You can propose any policy you see fit and people can discuss it here.

Decent health and education base should provide young innovative minds with base for creativity and ingenuity to drive a technical innovation powerbase in the economy. This means kids must be encouraged to stay in school, and school must be cool.

It is often those that have dropped out of school who haven't benefited from the advantages brought by globalisation and EU membership and are voting for extreme groups. Our kids must be given a full chance to see what's in it for them and to be able to sieze those opportunities.

We love big science such as CERN and the ESA projects, which often use British engineering in exotic materials, satellites and space technology. We want our young scientists participating as much as possible and we'll stump up whatever fees are necessary.

Innovation and creation are where the jobs of the future will lie and our kids must be prepared for it.

In terms of Education and curriculum I think that citizenship education and politics should be taught in the curriculum from a young age. It should be taught in its own right, not tacked on to "social studies" or "general studies." I know in England you can do Politics but that is not until later on in school life.

I have recently been talking to classes of young people at colleges and a lot of them had said "No one has taught me about this stuff." My girlfriend teaches Modern Studies in Scotland*(slight declaration of interest*) which teaches kids about these types of issues from the age of 12 and is held in similar esteem to Geography & History. Perhaps the Happy Party should take the best aspects of the Scottish system and improve other aspects to give kids in England and Wales the chance to learn about democracy and how they can get involved and make a difference.
