I've been working on a feature that means when you copy a loomio link into facebook, facebook will display the loomio logo and also go and get the title and desciption of a page.

I need help clarifying what the text content should be

public pages

will just pull the title/name of the discussion/group being linked. the description will likewise be specific to that page
e.g.
public discussion

private pages

will not pull any specific data but rather display a generic title and description. e.g.

private discussion
(the graph image will be the loomio logo)

any amendments to:
Title : Loomio
Description : Creating a world where it’s easy for anyone to participate in decisions that affect them.

Page not found

currently
title = 'Loomio'
description = 'This discussion does not exist. It may have been deleted. Please check your link.'

This looks really good John, I like the wording as is. So fancy. I'd be happy for it to roll out like this, but maybe we can tweak it slightly, e.g.:

  • the Title for public discussion pages could include the group name, {Group Name}: {Group Discussion}
  • the Title for private pages might be a bit clearer if it was like "Loomio (private group)"

What do you think?

I thought about this,

  • the public discussion suggestion is doable, but might mean titles that are too long ?

  • the Loomio (private group) title is probably doable but might be a second iteration at this point as the controllers are juggling the view around in the background and i'm not sure how to pass the data along that chain well
