Would you contribute to online Forest Gardening seminars?
Hi all,
In the current crisis, with people stuck at home, there are many groups and organisations offering online content to engage people and support them through this time.
It feels like Forest Gardening is relevant and the NFGS could be one of them.
Would anyone be willing to give a short (i.e. 10-15 min) seminar covering some basic techniques or knowledge relevant to Forest Gardening?
Where it is safe to do so giving tours of your Forest Gardens to show how they work in practice would also be good?
We would aim for the presentations to be followed by a discussion, and would like to run a number of sessions if possible.
Please get in touch if you're interested!
We can sort the tech side if people can provide the content.

Hi Jake, perhaps we could speak on the phone? If you could email me a time which is good for you and your number to [email protected]?

Just a note; when I say a forest garden tour - I mean a virtual tour. So you go around with the camera and explain to people what's there....

Hi Hannah, I'd be very happy to contribute. I've got lots of images that I could combine into slide shows. 10-15 minutes is very short though! It'sd be good to have a phone/zoom conversation about the details. Not so confident about shooting video footage with my mobile, but we could talk about it. 10-15 minutes is very short though! It'sd be good to have a phone/zoom conversation about the details.

Here's a virtual forest garden tour that I did recently with my smartphone: https://www.facebook.com/pawforestgarden/videos/234607151017245/. Rough and ready I know, but it was the first time I'd ever attempted it! It was very well received by quite a few local people.

I think there's so much can be shared with (and learnt from) a virtual tour, would be great to put them together in some sort of gallery? 🤔

Hi Andrew that looks great! Could I share that on the facebook page? ... also if you would like to be involved in a seminar please drop me an email!

Hi Jake, I agree - if we could get a few together we could put them on the facebook page and maybe put them on the website.... ?

Hi Hannah, Yep, I'd be up for this. I've just started free online workshops on Twitch once a week for this very reason. I've done a few talks in the past, so can re-purpose some of those, or expand on those or specific topics?
