Loomio

END key jumps to beginning of text

US Ulrich Schur Public Seen by 81

If you are drafting a text in Loomio (comment or new thread, in any text box), and you press the "END" key on your keyboard (which should jump your cursor to the end of your text line), it will do exactly the opposite - it jumps to the beginning of the line. I remember this has worked fine in the past, so it seems to be a recent bug.

Thanks @david rayner and @Ulrich Schur. I see the problem too. As luck.. or rather.. some kind of intended feature of open source development would have it.. there is a patch already applied by the wonderful TipTap people, I've just started a deploy for this, so it should be fixed in a minute or two.

Me again. I noticed that the behaviour is still off for multi-line text. POS1 and END does not jump to start (or end) of the current line, but always jumps to the start (end) of the paragraph. Feels odd and makes navigating large texts really awkward.

hello! I'll look into how to wire this up within Tiptap.

I've never noticed because I'm used to mac laptop keyboards, where you press command+e or command+a to jump to the start and end of text.

My home and end keys scroll the page. I agree it would be good if they were text editing actions though.

What is POS1?

Opps, I meant HOME and END (I was reading it from my German keyboard).

POS1 .. position 1. Home is the first position. Makes sense.
