Management reporting services

EH Emma Howard Public Seen by 62

I wanted to offer some help, rather than just be here asking for it!

I've noticed various co-ops, especially smaller and newer ones, lack the management reporting they need to manage efficiently. Numbers can be intimidating if badly presented, especially to non-finance people.

However, some key well designed reports will save time and help organisations focus on the key areas.

As a data analyst, my skills lie in designing reports and streamlining excel processes. I'm also familiar with SQL and VBA for automating reports etc.

I'd like to turn this into a sustainable business, but initially I'm happy just to help as I will gain experience and knowledge myself for how best to take this forward.

Let me know if you need any help or know a co-op that might!

Sounds like a fantastic offer. In my line of work I often have clients asking about reporting, and generally when I dig into the issue to try to understand the specifics of what they need, they don't have much of a clue as to what they actually need or want. I may be in touch on this...

Is that your post on the Coop support Network FB group to @emma? I think that it is definitely needed. It would be interesting to see whether it could stand on its own or whether you'd need to bundle with other services like accounting and book-keeping and you could maybe frame as part of a health check

It would fit within the sort of offer that Catalyst and CAN are offering. You could maybe explore it with an existing CDB in an associate role? The Barefoot training would be good for that too.

Hiya, sorry for the delay, everything went manic in the last week or so! Only now catching up!

Yes, that was me on Facebook - I strongly dislike the company so try to limit my activity there and keep it under a pseudonym.

If I'm really honest, while I love my role, I don't get to do much of it at my current employer which is why I'm looking to see what I can do elsewhere that's more specific to what I love doing. That's why I'd like to focus on reporting and data analysis (at all levels) myself. However that doesn't mean I'm against working with others to provide a more complete package.

I'd also like to point out that while data analysis can sound big and scary, I'm very used to stripping it down and making it simple but useful. I don't plan to intimidate any small organisations with ideas of coding, machine learning and ai - unless that's the stage they're at and want to explore. I'm very comfortable working with just Excel and doing what I can to make it as simple as even copying and pasting where possible.

I would also be very happy to include limited Excel, VBA and SQL training/support as part of my work - though if anyone wanted some in depth training I know a great company (sadly not a co-op, but awesome people nonetheless)

I'll definitely be looking into those links - thank you! And please keep me in mind if you come across any one who you might think will benefit.
