2026 Nominations: Community Contributions by Social.coop
As a member of Social.coop you are invited to help shape our 2026 Community Contributions: the cooperatives, non-profits, and charities that support Social.coop and a healthy, growing, and resilient fediverse.
The Organizing Circle proposed and approved a budget of 4,000 GBP (5,400 USD). This year the Finance Working Group (FWG) has curated a list of initial nominees under three strategic themes. Members are invited to nominate additional recipients that fall under one of the three strategic themes.
Propose a Nominee
Members can nominate additional cooperatives, non-profits, and charities — or their associated collectives or projects. To propose a nominee, please reply to this thread with:
- name of the organization or project
- link
- brief description and the strategic theme that best represents the nominee: Build, Protect, Grow
Nominations close in 7 days. Members will then be invited to a dot vote across the final nominees, so that all members can share and collectively weigh their priorities.

Loomio - https://www.loomio.com - Open source software cooperative building tools for collaborative decision-making.
We're also going to be asking for support with a marketing/awareness drive shortly.

@robertguthrie Hi, Robert. We could include Loomio open source software we use, though any funding (through GitHub?) would be net of our current subscription (499 USD per year). This is similar to our contribution to May First in 2025 (and possibly in 2026).

@Andrew Escobar (Andres) · social.coop Finance Working Group - Sure - it's so helpful to have your subscription - we greatly appreciate it. I raised my hand mostly for the visibility. We're feeling the pinch right now - the best way we could be supported is to join in on our marketing/awareness push soon.
