Notes App: Existing Apps that show or add OSM Notes

AH Adam Hoyle Public Seen by 460

In order to make the best Notes app possible I’d like to understand what apps are out there that enable adding (or viewing) of OSM Notes. This is so that we can learn from existing apps, understanding what works well, and what we can try to improve upon.

So.. __... here’s a thread to add Apps to. Please feel free to add apps that use or show OSM Notes. If possible, please make a note of as many of these as you can:
* the name of the app
* the platform (e.g. iOS / Android / WebApp)
* screenshot(s)
* a link to the app on it’s relevant store.
* anything that is especially awesome about the app
* anything that could be improved about the app.

  • Name: Vespucci OSM Editor
  • Platform: Android
  • OSM Wiki: http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Vespucci
  • Google Play Store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.blau.android&hl=en_GB
  • Home Page: http://vespucci.io
  • GitHub (java source): https://github.com/MarcusWolschon/osmeditor4android
  • Notes:

    • Fully featured mobile editor for OSM, including but definitely not limited to notes.
    • Has a lock that needs to be tapped to explicitly enable editing
    • Tap on a location on the map to enter 'new mode', then tap a 'bug' icon to add a note.
    • Dialog appears to with space to add note, and 'cancel', 'commit', 'upload' options. Not initially clear what the difference between commit and upload is. (Upload adds immediately (asking for OSM login) and sets bug to yellow, commit adds to local map as blue, and note has to be uploaded later.
    • Nice that OSM access is only asked for when needed, as allows trying out app before signing in.

  • Maps.Me allows you to add notes.
  • Not sure but perhaps StreetComplete shows Notes.
  • It doesn't do Notes but I want to flag OSMFocus as it's a great little app :-D

Great, thanks Rob!

I've tried to find where Notes are within Maps.me and so far failed - do you know where it is? I wonder if they've changed or removed the feature in the current version.

What do you particularly like about OSMFocus?
