Manifesto:

Accessible
Committed to learning about what people and communities need, in order to access our learning spaces and projects.

Collaborative
Developing strong collaborative working relationships with other elements of the building sector, including architects, planners and other specialist trades. Promoting collaboration rather than competition between organisations/individuals with shared aims.

Affordable
Developing a sliding scale model for payment, to enable people with little or no access to financial resources to access our services, whilst ensuring we can pay our workers.

Sustainable
Promoting and developing low impact, sustainable building in Scotland, from the materials we use, to the way we work, to designing with our ecological future in mind

Regenerative
Supporting regenerative forestry and agriculture as part of building more sustainable systems.

Resilient
Supporting community resilience by building infrastructure and resources.

Feminist
Challenging misogynistic work culture, creating spaces for people traditionally excluded from building, DIY and carpentry to learn and create.

Educational
Creating spaces for learning about carpentry, DIY and sustainable/ecological building in Scotland.

Rooted in Mutual Aid & Cooperation
Working as part of the network of co-ops across the UK to support the growth of the movement, developing positive exchanges with other groups or organisations and supporting the development/creation of collectively owned resources.

Western North Carolina Purchasing Alliance, an incubating multi-stakeholder cooperative bulk purchasing alliance, which is a project of our mutual aid network NGO Co-operate WNC. We need mentors who are running multi-stakeholder coops, especially in the U.S. Also we are preparing to launch a coop investment fund to support this project and others afterwards, and could use publicity and micro-investors (less than $5,000 USD each) for this campaign.
