[published] New website translation + technical stuff
How do we proceed? On several occasions we agreed upon certainly the major structure. So we can do translations of the big part already. (and maybe the solutions which we are most sure about) If someone could review/give better ideas for the French translation? You can take quite some freedom in the translation and it is also an opportunity to improve on the text. I started with 2 pads: https://pad.pirateparty.be/p/sitenl and https://pad.pirateparty.be/p/sitefr
For the practical switch: we could do language by language and then minify the English site as a third step. I don't know if a Maintenance mode is needed for the 3 hours it might take by language. (although we had a lot of kind of maintenance mode lately)

Thanks. The original text needed some refinement still,, but the Dutch translation helps to refine.
The most difficult part is still the icons above each text. If I can find a solution for that, it is only a matter of already bringing the Dutch version online.

A few hours ago, I checked the website in Dutch. I’ve got the impression that, here and there, the translation could have been better. Sometimes my own translation could be better, sometimes other translations can be better. Is the text on the site still the same as https://pad.pirateparty.be/p/sitenl ? If so, would it be useful if I read https://pad.pirateparty.be/p/sitenl again & propose some changements?

The easiest thing is to copy paste all text from the website in maybe a new pad and clean authorship colors. Or maybe just the parts you want to correct as it needs to be put back.

I changed the Dutch version to the new story. Still need to remove the crews section (wanted to do step by step) and menus would be different? I still hope for extra sections for the solutions... https://www.piratenpartij.be

Bedankt @koenvdp, I will adapt. For the French translation, I am amazed by the quality of deepl translation. I put it in the https://pad.pirateparty.be/p/sitefr pad and I don't immediately know how to make it better. So, if at least e.g. @hgo you could say whether you are as impressed and how we can continue in the best way, that would be good. I know there were some discussions about how to translate the slogan and I don't mind if the contents is slightly different between Dutch and French.
