Embedding code in Diaspora

I am a programmer and I know there are lot of programming guys on Diaspora. I would like to share short snippets of code from time to time, ask doubts about programming and answer others doubts.
It would be great if we can embed code in D* , something like Github flavored markdown.

@karthikeyanak diaspora* already uses markdown, as Jonne said, you can already embed code using 4 ` characters. But this could be improved, for sure.

Oh! So, I am closing this discussion.

Can this be closed? All that's needed is in place: markdown and an enhancement request as github issue.

@wilhelm Loomio isn't an issue tracker - there is no close button :)

For the basic needs there are the block fence and pre tags already supported, just badly styled, see https://github.com/diaspora/diaspora/issues/4575. For the advanced usage, maybe automatic embedding of gists (https://gist.github.com)?
