#BuyTwitter + #NetDemocracy

NS Nathan Schneider Public Seen by 108

So, the #BuyTwitter fun started with an article of mine in The Guardian. Now I've gone and done another one, this time about the potential for cooperative and municipal internet service providers to democratize the internet and transform the debate about net neutrality:

A people-owned internet exists. Here is what it looks like

Is this something that people here might be interested in mobilizing around? If so, how? How could we use our energy and our imagination to change how people think about their own potential for co-governing their networks?

Love it! 15 or more years ago I founded Mesh|net here in suburban New Zealand to share the 'wealth' of the internet with those over the fence and around me that couldn't get it. It was amazing to see how ideas thrived and innovation that happened over a second hand piece of blue Ethernet cable over a fence (and later WiFi). Today taking democracy to the nation and the world with the Internet and making the internet a better place is a passion. Let's do this! 馃挏馃敎馃審
