March 22 2026 Joint Co-op Hackathon
On Sunday March 22, 2026, we will hold a joint working session to improve both co-op's onboarding procedures. It will run from 9:30a (in your timezone) to 11:30a Pacific

Clarify Co-op MembershipWho do we want to join our co-op? How can we better communicate this?

Content AuditWhat other public-facing surfaces do we have? Can we update them to be consistent with the blurb from the Co-op Membership track of work?
Improve DiscoveryHow can we improve discovery of social.coop? what is stopping us from being on http://joinmastodon.org/
Multiple language supportWhat would we like this to look like? how can we start down a path to supporting multiple languages?

Design WelcomeHow could we best welcome people to our community? This is where we might brainstorm onboarding cohorts or mentors, or something else entirely!

Members of either co-op who wish to contribute to the documentation and improve the processes of onboarding.

Hi Melissa, I'm not often on Loomio these days, so excuse my ignorance, but ...
Which 2 co-ops? I presume social.coop is one, which is the other?
There may be some changes social.coop needs to make to meet all the criteria. But FYI the Mastodon server list has been neglected for some time, due to lack of time and energy to maintain it. A Mastodon staff member admitted this when I @mentioned their official account in a reply to the admin of a Native American server, who had expressed frustration that they'd had no response to their application to be listed.
Hopefully the recent personnel changes at Mastodon, and their commitment to stop funneling all new accounts into mastodon.social, will lead to the server list being curated more actively. But FYI there are many other fediverse servers lists you could make sure you're listed on too.
