Announcing AGM date 2020; & feed in to shape the event

HGP Hannah Gardiner (Current profile) Public Seen by 117

The NFGS directors have reviewed our ways of working in the last few months in light of the lockdown measures and concluded that we wish to run the AGM as a virtual event this year. This will be held on Saturday 26th September in rhythm with the traditional end of the harvest season in the UK.

We will hold this as a 3 part meeting in the afternoon,

1. Introductions and what we have been doing and what is on our minds (30-45 mins)

2. The formal business of the AGM (for about an hour)

3. Break for tea/coffee (15 mins) A chat room could be set up for these that wish.

4. A seminar on topic to be decided (1 hours).

5. Next steps for NFGS; shaping a strategy to 2022 (30 min)

We are looking at what kind of topics might be good to cover in the session, or consider for further action next year.

We have posed a couple of questions below, please vote on suggestions if they are relevant to you and/or add additional options. We also invite you to add comments/thoughts into the thread.

If anyone would like to be involved in some way in organising the AGM, please get in touch!

Look forward to seeing/hearing all your thoughts

Thanks so much everyone for completing this. As you can see the popular choices are Social Farms and Gardens, the Permaculture Assoc'n, and National Federation of Parks and Green Spaces. Of course the sample is small but they give an indication. We're about to put out our proposal for the AGM which might shift the context for this question: who do we collaborate with, which might give it even more energy.

Would you be willing to take on a role to lead/co lead work with any particular organisation?

How could NFGS uniquely contribute to the campaigns for increasing tree cover? Closed Sat 4 Jul 2020 12:01PM

There is a lot of energy around tree planting right now, but we know the tree planting alone is not the answer and techniques such as forest gardening could give so many more benefits. How can we interact with the energy around tree planting?
