What do you think of Loomio?
Issy, Alice and I went to Students for Cooperation and met lots of other students who run coops and they often use loomio as a tool for communicating rather than floods of emails and it's free!
What do you think? Should we switch to loomio? Which email lists should we keep? If we do keep emails what should they be used for?
It would be good to get opinions from people that have used loomio on how you think it could work when considering Green Action as a whole including allotments and campaigning.
This will be something we discuss at the General Meeting NEXT WEDNESDAY.

I only joined yesterday but it seems great to me. :)
It would be good to reduce the number of e-mails and to help encourage more members to get involved with Green Action decision making etc, but I agree with Richard that more people need to get on board for it to really work.

I think it's a great idea! It may be best to stagger the proposals and discussions but i'm sure that will come with time - its so much better for communication when everyone can't make it to the meetings

I'm now getting more emails than ever before!!! The daily update is good but is there any way to turn off notifications about everything that anybody says about anything?!!!

Sure, just click on your name on the top-right corner and select e-mail settings :)

Funny, I haven’t actually received any emails from loomio about updates, not sure how I got away with that! Ironic as I was liking how loomio allows us to discuss GA issues online without long e-mail threads on the list… still, settings can sort it out as Marcel says.

This is really convenient and aligns with our ethical stance (not commercial, i.e. Facebook). There just are not enough people using it, so that would be the key thing to have members USE IT.
