A LWC record can be set at any USAW sanctioned or recognized meet. (this is how the Pacific LWC, Michigan LWC, Maryland, and most states have it) | 80.0% | 4 | |||

I am voting for records to be set state meets & national/intl events only because it makes the record more official and it should have a higher level of judging. There is no conflict of interest in that case.

@chrisamenta I get that. Here's a thought on that though. What if athletes are required to declare at entry that they plan to attempt an LWC record at this meet so that we can also ensure at least two national level or higher refs judge the lifts during that session... ?

that would definitely solve the problem. That is how it used to be for masters and I remember how challenging it was coordinating with different national judges, the meet directors & the coaches to get the appropriate officials to the meets. It think it’s a headache we should try to avoid

Understandable. Just thought I'd throw the possibility out there. Are there any other possibilities? Maybe there's a way we can ensure multiple angles of video recording for later review?
