Next meeting of the NFGS -- in the North?

JL Jennifer Lauruol Public Seen by 60

After the excellent launch in Lewes last month, I agreed to organise/co-organise a meeting in the North in the near future.
Best for me would be before the New Year, or at the latest, the first week in January. I will be away between Jan 8 and Feb 6.
I am very happy to host a day-long meeting at my home--my sitting room comfortably seats 6 people, and there are spaces for 3 more. There is a cozy log burning stove; kitchen for a bring-and-share lunch, and parking outside.
If desired, I could also reserve a table for 8 at my local pub/community centre 10 min walk away.
The best dates for me would be Dec 2, 9, 16 or Jan 6.
Would this work for any of you?

Jennifer, thanks so much for your kind offer. I wanted to mention that some of us will be at the Oxford real farming conference 4-5th Jan. Travel to yours and this might be a step too far for some. Also I had thought about an ad hoc side meeting sometime over these 2 days. I am wondering how a meeting you wanted to host and this idea could fit well together? Perhaps we could invite a response from others here and see what people think to both these ideas? Thanks again

Hello all in my post about progress on Ebbsfleet I mentioned an academic Luke Owen from Coventry Uni who with colleagues has developed draft indicators for measuring the social impact of agroecology schemes, like forest gardens. He's very interested in collaborating on the Ebbsfleet work. Meanwhile he is inviting us to a (free) fringe meeting to the OFRC on 4th Jan. I wonder whether this could be a focus for people to meet who cannot commit to the whole conference? I will send details as soon as I have them.
Meanwhile I've been discussing dates with potential hosts of our next meeting in the north (Lancaster/Leeds) that account for absences before and after Christmas. 10th Feb now looks like the first likely date. Please put this into your diaries. More to follow.

Hi Jennifer

Sorry, but I am away on holiday through December until 16th and then looking after a grandchild on weekend that includes 6 January. I am also not available the following weekend as there is a family party for my partner's birthday.

All the best

So very sorry but none of these dates are going to work for me, Jennifer, but I hope the meeting goes well.

Best wishes

Hi everybody--I forgot that you are not mind-readers! I am in Lancaster.
The Oxford Real Farming Conference sounds like a good idea too--I'll be away, so wouldn't be able to join you.

Hi Jennifer, Ben from Bedford Fields Community Forest Garden in Leeds has found a community centre 5 min away https://www.woodhousecommunitycentre.com that could take 15 of us or more. It's available on 10th Feb.
Does that take the pressure off you in terms of finding a larger venue and planning for your break?
