Should we invite myvote2014.eu?

I think that myvote2014.eu would be an interesting discussion partner to involve in YEEA. It's trying to make the vote choice in the EP elections more meaningful by letting you compare your political positions to those of MEPs as well as European and national parties. I met one of their representatives at the World Forum for Democracy in Strasbourg and could get in touch with them if you're interested.

Check out their website and let me know what you think:

Yeah, sounds interesting :) Would give some interesting insight on the importance of voting. Are they based in Brussels? Brussels best because of cost related stuff :) Perhaps something in relation to Liquid Democracy as well? Might be able to get Smári to come for a trip in Brussels to rant about liquid democracy and stuff :))

The guy I met is situated in Brussels, yes. Regarding Smári: Sure! His rant should have an application to the EU elections though, e.g. "How can Pirate MEPs improve participation in the Parliament's work?" or something along those lines. The idea is to give participants as many reasons as possible for why the EP elections are important and the tools to convince others of this.

Sounds like a good idea.

Smári is very busy though, but i'll try some emotionally blackmailing so maybe he'll come :P

Workshop on online participation and information tools for the EP elections

proposal by Julia Reda Closed Sat 15 Feb 2014 12:08PM

We do a workshop with a member of MyVote2014.eu and the League of Young Voters youngvoters.eu on the online tools that they have built for online participation and information in the EP elections and discuss how we can use them in practice, make them more well-known and improve on them.

So I've started a proposal on this and also pitched the idea to MyVote.eu and the League of Young Voters. They're willing to participate and they're all located in Brussels.

Well the more initiatives and choices coming, the better the whole event can be promoted. Besides, it would be nice to talk about elections and electing in general at the YPE conference, since the preceeding one will be devoted less to the politics.
