I too have been involved in Civic Tech Toronto since the early days of the founding in 2015. I love this community though I have less time to be involved these days. Thanks for setting this up @patcon, I've been a fan of Loomio and Enspiral for some time so it's a real joy to try it out on something so meaningful and important.

Hi! I've been involved in co-organizing with Civic Tech Toronto since the August 2015 exploratory kick-off. I've been in and out of the city for extended periods, but usually stay connected from afar on Slack.
I am a process junkie. I worry about process being both too heavy and too light. Sometimes I feel like I often have too much to say, and I'd like to become better at knowing when to withhold :)
I feel affinity for anarchic self-organizing. I prefer shallow hierarchies of loosely held roles, with accountabilities. I dislike hierarchies of personalities. I like the terms "open leadership" and "open culture". I prefer transparency, but mainly as a means to broadening participation, with an emphasis on that transparency being humane and respecting agency. I feel at odds with our apparent inclination (at the individual and organization level) to pluck leaders from our midst.
I feel like I've seen a few cycles of organizers, as people rotate in and out. This cycling feels so healthy! I hope we can figure out a way of remembering past lessons learned, but I'm also wary of veteran organizers (like me!) stiffling new organizers and hurting their sense of ownership.
