I sent this to the MGP-CC Email List, but posting here as well...
I would be honored to serve the Maryland Green Party on the Peace Action Committee (GPAX).
For several months I have followed the GPAX webinar calendar and feel inspired by their content and active participation, especially during their event regarding the War on Yemen. I have already worked with some GPAX members to help plan an upcoming webinar event on Climate Justice. Being able to participate in the actual GPAX meetings would help make me more effective.
I plan to work with you all in the Maryland Green Party CC as well as the members of GPAX to understand what agenda we want to set for Peace and Justice. I view the GPAX committee appointment as a service position where my appropriate role will be to listen and work in service to the existing initiatives and contribute to their success.
I recognize the previous seat holder was Mr. Kevin Zeese and I will work hard to ensure my work with the GPAX committee honors his memory. I hope to be able to draw on Mr. Zeese's extensive body of work regarding Peace and Justice, as well as the many other authors with published work at PopularResistance.org to provide content and messaging for our work on GPAX.
I understand the schedule for working with GPAX is a biweekly meeting calendar with several events per year. I will commit to fulfilling these obligations and working to achieve the committee goals. I plan to report back to the Maryland Green Party CC on progress and happenings with the GPAX committee so I can proceed with your guidance and support.
If anybody has questions regarding my seeking appointment to GPAX, please ask and I will happily reply as soon as I can.
Thank you for your consideration.
