Open Parliament

Open Parliament’s purpose is to become the number one medium through which people engage in UK politics. Individuals can propose, debate, consult upon, and vote upon policy ideas. Whether those ideas be a reflection of personal views, research, or local need; the Open Parliament is a vehicle for continual political participation, and is open to all.

It is our belief that people have the potential to be inspirational and innovative in generating sound, workable ideas, from local issues, to national government policy, and even to international reforms. There is a vast, untapped resource in politics today, which can add great value to the quality of political decisions. That resource is us - every single citizen! It is human creativity, and the wisdom of crowds.

The Democratic Reform Party (http://www.democraticreform.co.uk/) developed the idea of Open Parliament, and as a consequence uses it as its principal manifesto policy making tool. We will work to ensure that other parties, and local representatives, will also follow suit as the OP develops technically, and grows in size.
