What are the potential impacts if the Open Data Charter was implemented in New Zealand?

Thanks everyone for their insightful comments - the official consultation period has closed (30th September) - Please subscribe to our mailing list if you would like to receive ongoing email updates about the Open Data Charter consultation process.

YOUR INPUT MATTERS

Over the past few weeks we've taken your feedback on-board as to whether we might adopt the Open Data Charter.

Initially we compared the Charter to the principles NZ currently uses when releasing data and information. Your input has helped us re-frame the consultation.

We're now opening a wider discussion around the impacts we could expect if NZ adopts the Open Data Charter. What might that look like and how would they work?

We'll also discuss how principles around open information could co-exist and what might need to occur to implement this.

The official consultation period has closed (30 September 2016).
