Scheduling
It would be cool to have some kind of scheduling or polling feature in Loomio, as part of proposals. This would be really useful if you were planning an event, for instance.
http://dudle.inf.tu-dresden.de/ is an open source implementation of just this kind of functionality, so it can be used in the mean time, but I feel like there could be some interesting interaction if a feature like this was included in Loomio.
@naught101 , there's some overlap here with your one other topic, although these are distinctly different concerns. Both topics relate to enabling Loomio to be the chief online home for a group. FYI there's a substantial older discussion on this, which kind of died off two weeks ago-- https://www.loomio.org/d/Ar2nd1Uc/alternative-uses-for-proposals-examples-in-the-wild
There's been a whole bunch of brainpower from the loomioverse put into the question "what should a proposal be for?"... I think many, many users of loomio are using proposals for things that they're not really intended for, because we haven't engineered the correct thing for it yet.
A good example is the 'Yes, I've engaged with this' proposal, or the 'temperature check', or the 'I'm going to drinks on Thursday', which... well, aren't really presenting new ideas for discussion, which means they're slight misuses of a 'proposal'
This strikes me as the kind of thing which will be useful as a feature, but shouldn't really be involved in any way with proposals, belonging more with an 'event' or 'engagement' or 'call to action' system of some kind which will eventually be engineered.
