New Board and Internal Organisation

ED Emin Durak Public Seen by 111

I'm very curious how the new set of facilities that Syntheist Node have will affect the functioning of its operations within the given setting hosted by Blivande AB. This post, therefore, is an initiative to bring about that discussion that I feel is necessary for the new node. If there's already such initiative that takes place elsewhere, I'd very much like to know about and participate.

Is there a new board formed? I'd like to bring this to attention, since some key board members like Hampus and Hugi are leaving the board...

It seems more important than ever to make sure that the new node keeps its capacity and motivation to run the activities it has done so, and, in my personal imagination, even have a setting to facilitate more of those and yet instigate unforeseeable possibilities that exist within our community...

I do not yet know if I want to be a board member, but I'm happy to contribute in varying ways if my contribution is believed to make a positive change to the community and empower the obvious transformation.

Kindness and love,
Emin

Thank you very much for bringing this up Emin! Indeed, we need now more than ever for a new group to step up and take on leadership of the Node. I have already left the board, but I remain an enthusiastic member of the association and I’m more than willing to do whatever I can to ease the transition.

Thanks to you too Hugi! :raised_hands:
I see... To me, what it feels most reasonable to do now is to email all the active members to ask for a sort of gathering to discuss how to proceed together. I assume forming a board and letting responsibilities spread, and encourage people to state their opinions and further development is something necessary, right? Otherwise, or in addition to that, do you have suggestions about how to proceed?

I know that some other members have also previously mentioned forming a newsletter for the Node (monthly or so). So I'd be happy to kick-start with an email and invite people to get more actively engaged.

Meanwhile, we shall aim to continue the "discussion" here I suppose right?

Sounds good Emin! I think it would be nice getting to know more about the task of the board members and what is expected and everything. It would be nice if you could explain a little bit Hugi, either here or somewhere else. It would also be appreciated if we could have a meeting ( like Emin said) where we discuss and were also old members talk a little about what they did and things that are good to know. What are your thoughts about this? :)

I have some thoughts, but I’d rather give the current board the chance first to have their say about what’s needed. Maybe @christianubbesen , @cindylarsen , @hampus , @karro , @otto2 ?

So Johanna Lo and and I have been thinking to have the general annual meeting soon in february. I don't know what is better a weekday or a weekend. Weekend I would suggest sunday 24.02.2019 at 5 pm. For a weekday I would suggest 21.02.2019 6:30 pm.

Hi, some random thoughts on what is needed in the board.

  • Visionaries with ability to execute to develop the Node and add more content - like adding workshops, seminars, events. Finding synergies between workshop groups.
  • Communication skills - communication with members, workshop leaders and other stakeholders
  • Community engagement and campaign experience - growing from 200 to 300 active members during 2019
  • Finance - keeping our books updated
  • Legal - knowledge and experience from föreningsrätt

If you're interested to be on the board, please let me know. I'd be happy to have a sit-down and talk about the work and how we could develop it further.

@christianubbesen describes it well! Basically we need a new and actively engaged board, with a clear trust and mandate from different stakeholders to move forward and make the new Node better than ever, not least by providing a frame for the rest of the members to act and take initiatives within, all in win-win synergy with Blivande.
This is really the time to step forward for anyone interested in joining the new board.
