~~ Code Wall ~~
Little stuff you want to share to Loomio code land.
Hey, just deployed my last creation today. The idea was to enable anyone to create a Ruby user group in their area with minimum effort. The solution I end up with is based off Nanoc, slim, markdown and sass.
So for anyone who might be willing to create a ruby user group in their area, I recommend going on the Github repo and following the instructions in the Readme.
Any suggestions, reactions or PR welcome ;)
This is a really great SO answer on the best way to visualise and understand merge conflicts:

TLDR; set your git merge visualisation to diff3
@jonlemmon straight into my Gist. Looks valuable ;)
this is nice
kickstarted
Five points to the first person who changes our favicon to the inverted colors and submits a pull request:

The orange background looks so much nicer!
Found that on our loomio.tumblr.com page. (Loomio had a tumblr?!)
Any merit in this, @jonlemmon?

@matthewbartlett personally I think I prefer the square (though this is likely just cause I've already gotten excited about it). However my policy at the moment is to accept all styling/design pull-requests that come from you, so it's your call! =P
Maybe get a third (unbiased) opinion!
I would like the square better with a tiny border radius, Like... you guessed... Trello

I enjoyed knowing that Angular + Coffee + Haml + Rails is really easy.
I also REALLY enjoyed the following pressy on coffeescript. Such a powerful language.
@robertguthrie Ok you've convinced me to learn Coffee
So hot right now. angular js and node js have overtaken RoR in search popularity http://www.google.com/trends/explore?q=angularjs%2C+emberjs%2C+backbonejs#q=angularjs%2C%20%20backbonejs%2C%20%20emberjs%2C%20%20ruby%20on%20rails%2C%20%20nodejs&date=today%2012-m&cmpt=q
@simontegg maybe that's because RoR is so intuitive you don't need to ask questions?

This is quite smart Replacing (most of) d3.js with pure SVG + AngularJS @robertguthrie
Although D3 doesn't have a custom build GUI the source is modular, and the creator (mbostock) has another library for making custom builds of javascript libraries https://github.com/mbostock/smash/wiki
I reread the link in my previous comment. By using angular for the data binding, it would be possible to pull out just the d3 methods and have a super light library.
@robertguthrie
@simontegg you have to love how readable that makes your code. I guess if speed is your drug...
I hope we never need those hacks. They're terrible.
