Crowdsourcing Video

Hi Media Loominaries!
Let's let everyone make their own media. It's not that hard with "today's technology"
I've been collecting pics of the gatherings and waiting for someone else to compose them into a video. I just sat down yesterday and put them into iMovie with a copyright free soundtrack.
Instead of us picking it apart (and making me crazy) how about we just say it's "crowdsourced" like they're doing for Wave of Action.

Creation of a Video Crowdsourcing Strirring Commitee Closed Sun 4 May 2014 8:05PM
This will be taken on by Media and Outreach. No new committee needed
I propose we empower a group to coordinate a call to action & a horizontal transparent process for the production of a crowd sourced video.
Let's leverage Loomio this way:
Agree- If you like idea & would like to help
Abstain- Like Idea but can't help
Disagree- I'm not excited about this & wont help
Block- I haven't read this & don't know what is being asked

Stir it up and let's see what happens

Ppl can put a block because they don't care - didn't read ? That's more abstaining.
I don't see a reason to give new meanings to the votes. Ppl can put their willingness to work on the comment of their vote

I agree, block is too strong for that as defined; just do not express an opinion if you do not understand—or ask for clarification if you want it, either here or privately.

I gotta go with Justin on this way of leveraging loomio.
the buttons are symbols that can be used anyway we need them to be.
it's done with maestro polling as well.
during discussions we use: 1 for stack, 2 for twinkles, 3 for disagree, 4 for direct response
for decisions, we change it to: 2 agree, 3 disagree or block, 4 abstain
we use the numbers another way if you form break-outs
1-outreach 2- media, etc.
I particularly like the addition of a "Like Idea but can’t help" choice. I'd been thinking of this a lot re: call decisions, and think it has been a missing component. There should be something in each proposal to indicate not just approval, but who/which group is moving the proposal to action. or in Next steps.

and sorry again - not at all on topic of video crowdsourcing.
maybe start a discussion just for the mechanics of loomio and how we use it?

All it really takes is putting out the call (loudly and repeatedly). We don't have enough people within the current planning group to handle it otherwise. Seems like a no-brainer to me.
