The court costs are in the spreadsheet I shared a few weeks ago.

1 July – 31 July 2014 $9.30 per court, per hour (GST incl)
1 August – 31 December 2014 $13.95 per court, per hour. (GST incl)
1 January – 30 June 2015 $18.60 per court, per hour. (GST incl)

Therefore 9am-6pm for 2 days 2 courts = $502.20
(We need 7 teams to register to cover court hire)

If 14 teams register then we make about $500
If 21 teams register we make about $1000

(The money raised last year has covered many/most people who have not paid any Sunday fees for this year.)

The more teams we can attract to the tournament, the more money we will raise.

I don't see benefit in separating any money raised from either normal fees or tournament money raised.
I think we should be pooling all money we raise from whatever means, and then spending it on our agreed priorities.
Theres no point in having full height boards if we don't have court time.
Theres also no way money from this tourney alone will pay for full height boards, We would definetly need to draw money from court fees. I also believe thats totally acceptable use of money we collect.

Can I propose a rewording.
Raise money from the Spring Tourney for the club
Raise money from regular players for the club
Use club money to pay for the courts
Use club money for full height boards

Ok, This makes sense. I like the Idea of the bank account being a general fund for future endeavors.

I will agree, that tournament income is not going to be the only way we fund the construction of full boards as well. perhaps we need to start thinking about some major sponsorship for the next tournament? I am going to contact temple brewing, mountain goat, and Thunder Road about beer for Spring tourney to see if they will help us out with some beer so we can offset the cost of that.

Another point I will make(And keep in mind I am one of the non-flagstaff payers), is that perhaps the prospect of getting full height boards might be enough to make a push to get people to pay their dues for the next year/ 3 months(Or what ever)? Perhaps and angle we can take.

For some reason this year, people have got it in their heads that paying
for flagstaff isn't cool. But it's not just "flagstaff" it has also been
for the boards... which have served us very well over the years and only
need a little love and a few screws to be way less frustrating again.
