Improved group/subgroup member management

Leila PublicSeen by 74

It's hard to deal with things like employee departures with the current group management options. As a coordinator of the parent group, I can remove the person from the parent group but that doesn't remove the person from the sub-groups. I can go in and remove the person from subgroups that I'm a coordinator for, but not other subgroups - which I might not even be able to see. There seems to be no way (unless I'm missing it?) to have say - and IT admin - properly clean things up in case of an employee departure.

My suggestion here is to model group memberships and group coordination more along the lines of what slack does.

Are you reading this info from the help manual? It's outdated and I'm rewriting it this very moment. New release due very soon.

Because, If you remove someone from a group, it will remove them from all the subgroups and any threads they have a membership to.

The app explains what will happen when you click "Remove". Gosh I'm looking forward to an updated help manual.

That's funny. I did remove a person from the top level group before raising this. I don't remember what the dialog said, but after I removed him from the top level group I could still see him listed in the subgroups. Perhaps his access was disabled, but he was still listed - making me think I needed to remove him from each subgroup.
