Let's buy this wireless presentation remote Closed Sun 17 Jun 2018 10:01PM
It's a knock-off of Logitech R400
Pros
- $20 ($50 cheaper than original)
- uncommonly, works with osx/win/Google without remapping laptop keys (R400 doesn't)
- USB dongle embeds in device, so hard to lose
cons
- quality that matches price
- uses AAA batteries instead of built-in rechargeable (only $100+ remotes have this)

Let's buy a wireless mic set Closed Tue 26 Jun 2018 5:03AM
It would be great it we could:
- consider offering options for hearing-impaired persons (ie. special seats with a "audio out" that they can plug their own headphones into)
- have a direct feed to audio for livestreams and video recordings
- be able to set up presenters with a mic that doesn't require good handheld mic technique
I feel like having a bit more control over the audio setup would help us offer a more consistent experience, and help the speaker portion of the night go more smoothly. It would also be a first step toward a more production-level video recording.
This set from Amazon is $50 CAD and has decent reviews.
- UHF mics are compatible with more professional setups, so we can build on it if we like the direction
- even if venue has mic, we can use this to capture audio direct from their equipment, without running long cables
