Common Seal

JK Jorån Kikke Public Seen by 398

We are officially required to have a common seal for society use, and maybe ceremonial use

What should this look like?

A picture of a seal (as in sea life)? Looking common?

We need like symbols of hackness and community? Wires in place of the typical olive branches or something.

Something that is open source and easily replicable (we should put the design on thinigverse) - maybe something along the lines of these embossers for business cards (then we could use the seal for business cards as well) https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:323561)
Or it's not replicable at all - we could just make a potatoe stamp and it changes as it shrivels away <.<

I like the QR looking thing thing. Can we have a qr that's an image? because of the way they work I think you can create a qr that still works with part replaced by cool stuff... Or a thing like you drew but with the design elements made of electronics, paintbrushes, pipes, saws, etc? That would be very emblematic?

  • Having a QR code would be nice! I wonder however about the readability of the printed image for standard QR reading applications.
  • I'm okay for the Seal of Approval, it reminds me this https://cdn.qwertee.com/images/designs/product-thumbs/1495554467-82701-zoom-500x600.jpg
  • The space wants to be open to all disciplines, and having a pipe/saw/electronics on the brush could say, like "we are open to everything but really more open on that and that", if you interpret it in a particular way. I don't know if you consider that relevant or not.
  • Would it be a good idea to add something that reminds of the city, like sails or that skinny high tower thing in the CBD?
  • The drawings/QR code could be encased by a circle pattern, that could be not a simple circle but say a mix of what say discussed before, like pipes and RJ45 and hydroponic tube and music partition and cie, or waves upon which some sailboats navigate. Something stylized.

I believe the seal thing is a one of a kind that shouldn't change, so official documents applications to do this and that can be stamped and other dodgy people can't apply to do dodgyness in the name of Hackland.

See tool using seal below. Hur hur.
