Let's get Sensorica appealing - Profiles

Adding an affiliate requires a lot of steps, including the creation of a profile (create the page, link it to the members document, have the person fill it, have people visit it, ...).
This takes time with little value, as people usually have other profiles, and these pages may not be visited. What if we simplified this ?
Proposal
- delete all profile pages
- add the LinkedIn address and a short description of expertise in https://docs.google.com/document/d/1D3UcOcrSZAownmk-aDN0mK89HVu271CTqqPomvTIenY/ by

@fabioballi - I'm not disagreeing with using LinkedIn or something like it in the short term.
And Holodex is not profiles, it's for navigating organization relationships. It would replace
http://nrp.sensorica.co/accounting/radial-graph/33/ which has grown out of control. The commons profile app is still being born, and the Holodex app is maybe pre-alpha, so neither one of those will do you any good now. But those are the directions I am looking into for the future.
P.S. I guess our directions also differ. I am not currently trying to connect to the mainstream. I am trying to unite groups of people who can have common interests and can be united. I am happy that you are connecting with the mainstream. I think we need to do both.

The VAS page for each person now has a field called "URL", which was intended to link to something like your profile. Is that ok? Want to rename it to "Profile"? Or add a new field?
You can also put URLs in your description, which will be clickable.

Thanks Fabio for taking this initiative. The manual integration of members is a tedious job, that I have to do for every new SENSORICA affiliate. I would love to make it automatic.
Implementation: The SENSORICA website is a Google site. We need to explore ways to make access to all the SNESORICA infrastructure automatic, and even to get data from other social platforms. This requires JavaScript programming.
We started to work on a SENSORICA 2.0 website in Wordpress, in July, but at this moment we are just building a front page for the public. Moving the collaborative space to another platform is not an easy job! This requires skills and perhaps 2-3 months of work for 2-3 web developers. It is hard to get this done on a voluntary basis or as an investment in Infrastructure development. I would use some funding for it, when we get it, and transfer the job to someone in the developing world, to get more done with fewer $.
If someone can develop a JavaScript for importing LinkedIn profiles into Google Sites easily, we can go for it. Otherwise, this will definitely go into the next push for infrastructure development. Everyone says that the SENSORICA website is messy. It really needs an update.

Oh, I did not read well your first message, sorry. I did not know about VAS profiles. It could be interesting to build on it.
Using Holodex or others requires time and does not help us get visible to the broad public... we only have impact if we connect with the mainstream...
