How can we foster a culture of self care, support & empowerment while keeping all safe??

Would be great to hear ideas how we can take the De-Escalation Community & the Occupy Sandy 'Calm Hub' Self Care Zone concept and create something similar for Nat Gat?

Maybe a calm hub in the shade somewhere ? Have a serene place to cool off or meditate or stretch maybe even cry on someone's shoulder...

I am hoping that the parks are tree-shaded and that we will have a source of water—probably more difficult this year than in Philadelphia, as we have already been asked not to “chalkupy” because of the need of water to clean up. (I would reply, why remove it?, but not sure how we can communicate that without causing a confrontation.) This is probably not the right place for this, but I note that Fresh Juice Party was planning to chalkupy—their work is truly artistic, but we should probably warn them early if there will be a problem.

I think it would be wise to reach out to members of our community who work in this area instead of micro managing the idea with details.

Unless the two of you want to set it up & staff? lolz.

Let's create space organizationally for the idea & maybe reachout to the medics & body workers of the movement?

I will be sharing yoga at 10:00 in the mornings. I can bottom-line this effort.

On last night's call we discussed having a "Meeting for Healing" call to help relieve the stress of long distance long time organizing.

I am putting together a Doodle poll to find a time soon. I think having a party line open 24/7 would be a good idea, so people can pick up and talk whenever they need to. I found a couple of sites, but they're seedy.

Two people stepped up to be on this effort, one was Cal and I'll have to look up who the other person was on the notes.
