Dashboard page improvement
What do you think about this
Agree about the group 'bread-crumb'.
I also really like the idea of a sense of who is in a particular conversation.
I think the notification area might not work without moving the groups - i have so many groups my notifications would not be easily visible.
The good news is we are currently building 'following' of discussions, which should help a lot with viability of important things
Good ideas @novicazivkovic !
The idea of showing comment counts is in the backlog here.
We're going to be overhauling the dashboard soon so we'll take this into account.
Great stuff @novicazivkovic. We're redesigning this over the next few months and this is great input.
Thanks @novicazivkovic! It's awesome to see a drawing, rather than trying to explain it with lots of words.
I'd like to see the dashboard evolve to something a lot closer to the Github Pull Request queue:
In the Loomio context that might mean you could filter by:
- discussions only/decisions only
- open/closed
- following
- unread
- author
- search
- sort
And include indicators for
- who is participating
- how much activity is there
- when will the decision close
- your position on a decision
Looking at the rest of the page as it currently is, I just want to get rid of the right hand column all together! I want one column of content, and then some chrome around it for options, navigation, notifications, etc.
I might be getting too excited about 'mobile-first' though - your idea of having a notification panel on the right is pretty sweet, like the ticker on Facebook.
I certainly agree basic data on each group would be awesome. @richarddbartlett I love where you're heading with this.
A quick question for the developers. Theoretically, as Loomio grows just how much meta data could be obtained and how easily could it be made accessible to the users? For the groups it could be interesting to have access to this as its reflexive learning. Groups may discover that they have peak activity times that occur on a repeating basis or around particular events. It could reveal if there were 'factions' within groups that consistently had a particular stance as well as their sise and level of engagement vi-a-vis the other members opposed 'factions'.
Hypothetically, if there was a group of say 200 people and it was revealed that say 70 people continuously voted in blocks and with more activity than the rest of the group thus dominating the poles, along with creating a majority of said poles, how could Loomio as a community deal with this situation?
@rorytb ooooo yes! In app metrics! Something we've not done well on in the past.
I really can't explain why we've not got any in app metrics, but it's something I really want to see happen.
I can't answer what we/a group would do when they see a trend in the metrics, but having the ability to see trends easily is a good start.
