Loomio

Allow several suggestions for a given problem.

I'm just testing loomio and it seems that we can't propose 2 solutions to a given problem.
It should be easier to define if a solution is good if we see the others solutions at the same time.

Definitely a good idea.

Another case where it would be useful: like in politics, it happens that whenever someone propose a solution, all other disagree, but there is a time when we need to choose the less bad solution.

Loomio is based on the idea of considering one proposal at a time, but there's been a great deal of discussion about comparing ideas and improving proposals. This big thread is the most recent related discussion which I'm personally aware of.

Hi @jourdane, thanks very much for your feedback.

Loomio encourages groups to use the discussion thread to consider multiple options. A proposal is one proposed course of action and is used as a way of testing consensus when it looks like a one idea is gaining traction.

That being said, a multi-choice proposal feature has been discussed at length (as Greg mentioned) and there is a card for this feature in our public roadmap (which documents what's coming up in our development pipeline). This card also links to the discussions that have taken place about this feature in the Loomio Community group.

In future we want Loomio to accommodate plugins for different decision-making mechanisms and we'll be looking into ways to design and implement the architecture later on in the year.
