advertising
so, i've been looking round for some advertising for this edition without much success so i'm just asking people for their ideas or any help they can give so we can get this edition sorted.
so far we have left unity advertising.
i have contacted:
the mac birmingham
birmingham botanical gardens
the bullshead
the ort cafe (they can't)
the custard factory

I have suggested that the friends of the lob put in an advert. I can remind them again. How much is a quarter page ad?

quarter page? erm, based on the fact that half a page is £70 i'd guess at around £45? does that seem reasonable?

@helena When is the advertising deadline? How many copies are we putting out this time around? just so I know how many etc etc.

I think deadline for advertising is provisionally Friday, could extend it if things go badly wrong.

so far NCAFC NC agree with the proposal (though mainly our mates) so i think i'll try to push that decision a bit.
how much do we need to run a 12 page newspaper with 4 colour pages? just so i know what we're shooting for.
sabcat printing are interested in advertising with us in future, but not right now, so something to keep in mind.

so, at a guess, we currently stand to make about £165 from advertising which i expect is not enough. however, i've been busy messaging and e-mailing a shit ton of people so hopefully it can be salvaged. i'm optimistic.

its full colour. Helena did you go to the cooperatives wm agm this morning? we have a half page advert from them but it might be half price if no one was there to make the case about raising the costs of the adverts. I can design that advert.
We've also been contacted by towers of song who dan is chasing. that would make 3 even without the ncafc one so I shouldn't be too worried. Maybe we could think about doing 16 pages and trying to get a bunch more adverts if we think there are lots of people interested.
It's not that much more and would make it a bit more spacious only 115 more so if we got two adverts it would cover it. see the attached quote from Trinity

really sorry i didn't make it to the meeting :/. had a rough night last night and felt very ill this morning. i did e-mail my apologies and state a case for continuing with the advert. hopefully it'll be all right.
it looks like we'll need about £700 based on that quote so surely we need a LOT more money? remember we're using membership fees to pay me :P
