Hi there media peeps.
I see the visual chaos we've created and I like it. Through the "multiple images" strategy of the winter we have generated cool graphics and have generated a buzz and interest.
The Phoenix is the bird of the year and the color scheme and banner Ryan created is beautiful. We'll use on the websites and in thumbnails.
We could ask for variations on the theme of the Phoenix like the Wave of Action did for the wave, to provide a visual philosophical explanation and inspiration for this national action.
I'd like to see the media and outreach working group as co-creators with the "studio audience" (as the 99% is pejoratively referred to) and let them make as much content as their little hearts can express and broadcast it for them. I'd like to empower them to create for us without us having to judge them or align them with our visual "brand".
I like Julia's creations and allstr33ts and enjoy looking at all of the variations, too.
Artists and organizers and activists can send creations to us and we can share with the community. I'd be nice to have a spot where these can be deposited and archived for the historians of the future : ) #OccuArt

Green all the way! So people agree that engaging the community through crowdsourcing media is a good idea. We can walk this talk If everyone who voted can send a fav pic of Occupy to natgat2014@interoccupy.com we can get the first video made. ASAP
Have a campaign to collect stories and images video and audio from Occupiers using the hashtag #MyOccupy
The collected media can be assembled into a movie for YouTube and broadcast on all the platforms and messaged to occupy groups through outreach parties

1 of the most rewarding & powerful aspects of the #MMM (Million Mask March) was photos from across the globe. It was like a check-in. As the #MMM gained momentum Maskers scrambled to get a stance photographed & uploaded. It was uplifting.

Isn't there a better way to crowdsource the images than through the main email? wouldn't twitter be better?
I don't know - just asking.
Anything sent to the email would have to sent somewhere else - or would you just grab them from there?

i reported on the nat'l press call today that they can also either tweet or post on fb with #MyOccupy or #IRememberOccupy, or post in the media fb group. then we need to search that tag to find the posts.

I'm no media guru, but don't like that #IRememberOccupy - it triggers something old farty to me and reinforces the occupy is dead idea.
but the horse has left the barn (or was it the cow?)
do we have some campaign text to post around? instructions?

The Occupy National Gathering planning group has put out a call for images of Occupy, past and present (especially present!) to engage the interest of the general public in meeting in Sacramento, California, from July 31 through August 3. (There is antiracism, antiopression training planned for July 30.)

Great—except the title: on another page, we commented that #MyOccupy was better than #IRememberOccupy. In this case, of course, the video is a specific memory of a group event that is over, but I wonder if there is some other hashtag that we can use.
