This is a proposal, where you can make a decision together. You can start a proposal once a discussion is underway.

Everyone is asked to state a position by the deadline. You can extend the deadline if you need to, or close a proposal early.

You can change your position while the proposal is open. You might reconsider your view as you listen to others.

Sometimes groups work through a series of proposals to build solutions together. You can raise sequential proposals in this thread.

Drop weekly CE & IC Fri payroll run Closed Fri 8 Feb 2019 2:01PM

For those of you who were not in our Core Ops meeting on Thursday, the payroll team put forward a proposal to cease processing the Friday payroll for both CE’s and IC’s.

• IC terms are now N30, if time is not caught for them on the Wednesday payroll run then they can just wait to be captured on the following week. This will not cause any delay in payments to them.
• CE weekly run has been no more than $20,000 for several months. It usually hovers around the $5,000 - $10,000 mark.
• This run was originally created to process expenses as the payroll team did not have the time to capture them on Wednesday’s payroll run. We have since created an expense expert position which Hassan currently fills. The number of expenses that are now processed on Friday is very low (for example, last Friday 1 expense was processed and this was due to late submission)

• The payroll team proposes we only process 1 payroll run each week for our IC’s and weekly CE’s. This run will be done Wednesday for a Friday pay date. Any items that are missed will be dealt with on a case by case basis. The biweekly Friday run (pay date Tuesday) will still be processed for the time being.

I appreciate that we will continue to run the Friday bi-weekly, since a delay in that payment would mean that a CE is waiting a month to be paid. I think it is fair to lean towards more structure with our weekly payrolls, we've been too flexible. My one question is how will communication be handled on inquiries from those who are used to being paid on Tuesday when timesheets are late?
