Civic Tech Game Show Nights

VK Vinesh Kannan Public Seen by 27

Since the lightning talks have been such a big success, I wanted to propose another type of event: Civic Tech Game Show Nights

Some potential ideas:
* Family Feud: Civic Tech Edition
* Are you smarter than a civic technologist?
* American Civic Tech Warrior
* Minute to Win It: Civic Tech Edition
* Extreme Home Makeover: Readme Edition (inspired by today's lightning talk)

I imagine these being the same length as a presentation would be, with the goal of getting lots of audience involvement and exposing people to civic tech topics in a fun way. Do any of these titles strike your interest?

If there's some interest, we can start a breakout group in the new year to flesh out learning goals and maybe come up with a sample game.

Problem: Non profits and community organizations give many presentations to spread their work to different audiences. Many presenters complain that they can't afford the time to beautify their slide decks and aren't sure where to get help polishing their presentations.

Event/Breakout Group: Community organizations can come in and have designers at ChiHackNight improve the aesthetics of their slides. We could codify some of the lessons learned and create some online resources about improving slide presentations. There seem to be many blog articles and online courses on this topic, but it might be valuable to corral the main takeways and have the ChiHackNight brand on it :)

Per Eric's lightning talk, perhaps this could be a way to get more arts/design/public speaking people involved with ChiHackNight breakout groups.

@vineshkannan you are on to something here. I loomio'd on here to suggest a 'long pointy microphone', but the potential ideas listed are incredible. "Readme Edition" sounds like a blast and a half.

I'd love to help out with readmes and slides. I do that stuff for my day job a lot. Sounds like fun!
