Syncronize posting of a preprint with press releases

LU Leonardo Uieda Public Seen by 14

Hi all, I've been contacted by an author about setting a particular publication date for the preprint. They are expecting a lot of media attention for this and want to sync the preprint publication with their press releases for the study.

Is this something we could do? I couldn't find an option on Janeway for this. My thought was to review ahead of time and then manually post on the required date. This would require coordination with the Moderation Crew to avoid publishing the preprint too soon.

Hi Leonardo. There is a feature to accept a preprint on a specific date and time...(it's in the GUI, but I don't know if it works, I'm checking with the CDL)... but we don't have an established process to do so. AD HOC suggestion... If the author would send you the PDF (or me at admin@eartharxiv) then we could post this on the moderation Loomio and get it preapproved... At that point we can figure out how to get it on the site on the right date... ONE question: if she/he wants to put the DOI into the press release, then we will need to process this before that date (so there is a DOI). Ideally we can then change the publication date to the specific date... or do something to make this work.

@Leonardo Uieda The CDL confirmed that you can set the publication date in the future, and the submission will not appear to the public until that date and time... I'm checking on the status of the DOI during the embargo...
