#SocialCoop Toot-Up!
One idea to come out of tonight's meeting is to aim to have a "toot-up" gathering in which as many of us as possible commit to hopping on Mastodon during an hour and have some conversations! This'll be a great excuse for those who have not to set up their accounts, and for us to learn about each other a bit more!
In particular, it would be good to get #SocialCoop trending - if we can generate 20 toots in an hours with that #hashtag, we might be able to get it picked up by the trending bots.
So, please respond to the poll of Toot-Up times... :)
First #SocialCoop Tootup!
time poll by Matthew Cropp Closed Tue 2 May 2017 4:27PM
Since we had several tied outcomes, I'm calling it for 10am EST on Friday, May 5th. If you can get on Mastodon between 10 and 11am and toot at least once with the #SocialCoop hashtag, please to do so!
Let's pick a time to all have Mastodon open and toot about #socialcoop and generally get to know each other a little better through the platform... :)

not working at that time! Hard for me to accept that I've truly surrendered to a corporate job, but...that regular paycheck is a comfort at my age ;)
So, this isn't a call, but a 'gathering' to do a bunch of toots in our own instance, am I correct?
Hehe. Learning curve ahead!
Exactly. You can be doing other things at the same time - just send a few toots and talk co-op shop, both about social.coop and generally... :)
Timezones are complicated. So this page shows you the time in lots of local times: TootUp - Local Time. (Alas I can't make it).
(Presuming I got the timezone right)
Yeah Loomio converts to local timezones in the poll, but then stops short when showing the outcome...
Looking forward to it! Let's storm the federation :)
Just posted an #introduction toot - look forward to chatting in the coming hour... :)
Where y'all at?
Alright, conversation's getting going now.
Next Toot-up Scheduling
time poll by Matthew Cropp Closed Sat 6 May 2017 10:20PM
Since the first toot-up sparked some solid conversation, let's do another one! Pick the dates you could simultaneously engage with the #SocialCoop hashtag.

Humble proposal: how about we define a clear topic for the next toot-ups? The first one was a very interesting free-for-all, but maybe we could try to address specific questions in the coming rounds?
@michelekipiel good idea! Perhaps given the timing, the #buytwitter campaign might be relevant to both talk about the pros and cons of large centralized vs small networked platform co-op nodes? Also probably a good chance to share the recent governance panel document, and talk strategy around how to pitch mastodon to campaign supporters post-launch...
Next #SocialCoop topic: #BuyTwitter
time poll by Matthew Cropp Closed Tue 16 May 2017 4:53PM
I'd like to have a toot-up to discuss the #BuyTwitter platform co-op initiative for our next toot-up, and would like to do it prior to the May 22 vote, so we can discuss how to best support the campaign in its final days, as well as capitalize on the surrounding publicity to attract folks to Social.Coop.

Please vote your availability today!
Alright, calling the #SocialCoop toot-up for this Thursday, May 18 at 9amET! Chat then, @michelekipiel and perhaps others!
Toot toot!
Where/how can I see the history of these toot-ups?
Pretty please.
Do I have to be individually following each of you to see your toots?
If you hop on your account and search the hashtag #socialcoop, you should find the conversations
Then clicking one of the posts will reveal the thread it's in, a la Twitter.
Great idea! Self-promotion FTW!
